‘Kleim’s Hardy’ Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides)

Kleim’s Hardy Gardenia is a low maintenance, evergreen shrub. Due to its size, it makes for a great foundation shrub. This variety of gardenia produces a single bloom rather than a double bloom.

Sunlight: full sun to partial shade

Water Requirements: Water daily for the first 3-4 weeks. Once established, water enough to keep the soil wet. Watering may have to be altered depending on the soil type. Overwatering can cause yellow of the blooms.

Mature Width: 2’ft-3’ft

Soil: Well drained (Gardenias do not like sitting in water)

Soil pH: 5.5-6.5
